• When: Thursday, June 25 to Sunday, June 28
• Where: Memorial Park, Waterdown
• The Vibe: Nothing says “summer is here” quite like the smell of wood smoke and barbecue sauce wafting across a local park. Because the holiday falls mid-week, this community favorite is kicking off early. It’s a classic local tradition complete with top-tier North American ribbers, local marketplace vendors, and live music all weekend.

Culture & Community: The Burlington Latino Festival

The Main Event: Canada Day Waterfront Celebrations (Wednesday, July 1)

On Wednesday, the focus shifts to our gorgeous local lakefronts. Whether you are looking for classic Canadian pancake breakfasts or live rock concerts, our three major local hubs are pulling out all the stops.

Burlington: Canada Day at Spencer Smith Park

• Where: Spencer Smith Park | Noon to 10:30 PM
• What to Expect: Burlington’s waterfront is always the place to be on July 1st. The day features a packed lineup of food trucks, local artisans, and family activities, including the fan-favorite SuperDogs shows. The official opening ceremonies kick off at 4:00 PM, led by the iconic Burlington Teen Tour Band’s Junior Redcoats.
• The Big Finale: Burlington is blending old-school tradition with modern tech this year. At 9:40 PM, look up to catch a massive, high-tech synchronized drone light show that leads straight into a brilliant fireworks display over Lake Ontario.
• Getting There: Avoid the parking gridlock! Burlington Transit is 100% free all day, and a dedicated shuttle will run continuously from the Burlington GO Station (North Lot) right to the park from noon until 11:30 PM.

Oakville: A Grand Waterfront Party

• Where: Bronte Heritage Waterfront Park | 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM
• What to Expect: Presented by Tim Hortons, Oakville has expanded its festival footprint to take over the entire park this year. On the east side, you’ll find a massive new Family Fun Zone loaded with inflatables, face painting, and camp-style crafts. Catch live kids’ theater like Fireside Munsch on the Family Stage, or watch acrobats from the Aristov Circus and roaming Dragon Dancers weave through the crowds.
• The Big Finale: Traditional, bright fireworks will light up the sky over Oakville Harbour at 10:00 PM sharp.
• Getting There: There is no on-site parking, so hop on the free Town Shuttle running every 10 minutes from the Bronte GO Station straight to the park starting at 3:45 PM.

Hamilton: Fireworks at Bayfront Park

• Where: Bayfront Park | 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM
• What to Expect: Partnering with local music champions Sonic Unyon, Hamilton is throwing a massive, high-energy festival right on the grassy expanse of Bayfront Park. It’s geared toward all ages, featuring an entire field of giant bouncy castles for the kids, a fleet of the city’s best food trucks, and an open-air, licensed beer garden for the adults. The music lineup is top-tier, headlined by Canadian rock mainstays Texas King.
• The Big Finale: Hamilton is bringing a custom-choreographed, heavy-hitting fireworks show at 10:00 PM that reflects beautifully across the entire bay.

Tips for a Seamless Local Canada Day

• Sunscreen and Water: All of these festivals run rain or shine. Bring a refillable water bottle, Burlington, Oakville, and Hamilton are setting up free municipal water filling stations at each park.
• Ditch the Car: Parking near Spencer Smith, Bronte, or Bayfront on July 1st is notoriously difficult. Group up, take advantage of the free city shuttles, or ride your bike down the waterfront trails.
